![]() One size does not fit all when it comes to weather apps. That’s one of the reasons there are so many different weather apps out there: because different people need to see different data arranged in different layouts to meet their needs. People use weather apps for completely different reasons depending on where they live, what they do for a living, and what their hobbies are. Users love that they can configure the UI to display any data point they want.īut I always felt like I was only scratching the surface here. Along with the additional detail, each card also comes with an encyclopedia-style entry so you can learn about the associated data point and why it’s important.ĬARROT has always been known for her customizability. That’s actually one of the most useful things about cards: they can be used as quick links to get at the details for a specific data point. (Lefties can move the jump bar to the other side of the screen.)Ĭards have details screens, too. ![]() But my favorite little feature here is the jump bar on the right side of the screen, which lets you quickly swipe through the days in the forecast without having to do a bunch of scrolling. Swipe the chart to advance a day - or use the toggle at the top to get a look at the entire week. ![]() The hourly details can graph just about every conceivable data point. Tap (or long-press) any component on the Weather tab and CARROT will bring you to a details screen overflowing with meteorological goodness. But more on customization in a bit.)Īs much information as CARROT manages to fit on the main screen, there’s much more lurking just beneath the surface. (You can, of course, customize which cards appear when and in what order. In other words, it's when shit is about to hit the fan that you'll realize just how useful cards are. But when the weather starts to turn, new cards will bubble up to highlight potential hazards: a big drop in pressure over the next 3 hours, gale-force winds this afternoon, two inches of rain in the next day. If you open the app on a relatively calm day, you might only see sunrise/sunset and moon phase cards. Breaking CARROT out of her cramped, everything-jammed-into-one-screen interface opens the door to so many new possibilities.Ĭards surface interesting data that's usually buried deep in other weather apps.ĬARROT is smart, so she won't load your screen up with a bunch of useless cards. The biggest structural change, though, is the switch to a vertical layout. And the precipitation icons even give you a hint as to how much it’ll rain (check how full the water droplet is). There are icons for new weather conditions, like mostly clear and mostly cloudy. They’re not just bold and chonky, though: they pack in more information, too. The colorful new icons were built from scratch to be legible even in the teeniest Apple Watch complication. (Just be careful not to disturb the nuclear reactor.) Pay attention to the way the trees and the smoke wafting off the power plant react to your location’s wind speed, for example. ![]() The current observations section at the top is full of little touches of personality. She now uses native UI elements to make her fit in great with other iOS apps - while still retaining the same personality that has made her so popular. New LookĬARROT’s new design is brighter, cleaner, and easier to navigate. CARROT Weather v5.0 is here! It's a major redesign with many new features, the culmination of everything CARROT and I have learned about building weather apps over the past six years.

![]() Now, in 2022, the fifth point on the star is born, with a focus on advancing health equity. Health Equity Is At The Core Of A Vibrant And Prosperous Nation To optimize health system performance, mending the clinician experience is an ethical and business imperative. These levels of burnout crippled the Quadruple Aim. Forty-six percent of psychologists reported feeling burned out, with 47% reporting stress levels higher than 7 on a 1–10 scale. In 2021, 61% of providers reported feeling burned out. With one in five healthcare workers leaving medicine since February 2020, the provider experience must be prioritized. After all, a healthcare system performs optimally when the clinician’s health is valued just as much as the patient’s. In a post-pandemic future of work, there is still much work to do. This goal strives to amend the clinical experience by championing provider wellness. The Quadruple Aim recognized the backbone of the system: our providers. With exhausted providers, the patient experience plummeted, population health suffered, and the overall cost of healthcare ballooned. This was shown to adversely impact the health of our providers by putting them at increased risk of cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol, as well as suffering from headaches and musculoskeletal pain. The rate of burnout among nurses and physicians eclipsed 45% and 54% in the US, respectively. While the Triple Aim set the stage for healthcare reformation/rehabilitation, clinician burnout was running rampant throughout the system. Without The Health And Well-Being Of Our Providers, The Healthcare Ecosystem Will Fail This broader approach was meant to incentivize healthcare leaders to promote the health and wellness of their communities, not just those residing within their brick-and-mortar walls. The Triple Aim focused on boosting the patient experience, ameliorating population health, and driving down healthcare spend spiraling out of control. With these principles, the Triple Aim was conceived. To truly improve health outcomes, we needed to incorporate empathy and engagement at every touchpoint. These elements focused solely on what transpired during care and ignored the root causes of most illness: what occurs outside of the exam room. While well intentioned, there was still a missing piece to the puzzle. ![]() Prior to 2008, the focus on improving healthcare was focused on six elements: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, equity, and efficiency. The Patient Experience Encompasses Every Touchpoint Now, seven years later, the “Quintuple Aim” is taking healthcare by storm, with a focus on health equity as a fifth equal pillar. Theoretically, achieving these goals would alleviate the burden experienced by the healthcare ecosystem and increase the quality of healthcare for all patients. This daunting ambition was given hope with the proposal of accomplishing three goals equally in 2008 and the addition of a fourth in 2014. JAMA Neurol 2020 77:927‒8.The Triple/Quadruple Aim has long been recognized as a framework to optimize the US healthcare system. Digital channels can be rapidly implemented to help provide accessible, effective and frequent care, individualized disease awareness and prognostic information, as demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic. The authors highlight the power of telemedicine and digital engagement. These factors are in line with the aims and recommendations of Think Brain Health. Solutions to achieve this include population health management, personalized care, and the empowerment of patients, caregivers and healthcare providers through education and training. This ‘quadruple aim’ concept, published in Lancet Neurology, 1 brings together considerations of population health, patient experience, healthcare provider wellbeing and costs, using evidence-based healthcare approaches to support the model. The county experienced significant changes during the 20th century. ![]() The arrival of the railroad in the late 19th century further contributed to the growth and development of Jasper County. In the early days of the county, logging and farming were the primary economic activities. The county was named after William Jasper, a hero from the American Revolutionary War. Jasper County was officially established on February 1, 1836, just weeks before the independence of Texas from Mexico. European settlers began to arrive in the area in the early 19th century, primarily from other parts of the southern United States. The land where Jasper County now stands was initially inhabited by various Native American tribes, including the Atakapan and Alabama-Coushatta peoples. Jasper County, Texas has a rich history dating back many centuries. The Courthouse Square, with its official buildings and landscaped grounds, continues to be a focal point of Jasper County activities. An adjacent office building was erected by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1940, and the courthouse clock tower was removed in a 1957 remodeling project. Additional wings were built onto the east and west sides of the structure in 1931, and the entire courthouse was covered with stucco. One year later a tower with a four-sided clock and bell was added. The present courthouse, constructed of locally made red brick, was completed in 1889. It was replaced by a two-story building, completed about 1854. The first county courthouse on this site, a two-room log structure, was destroyed by fire in 1849. Bevil settlement, established by pioneer John Bevil about 1824, became the seat of government and was renamed Jasper in 1835 in honor of American Revolutionary War hero William Jasper. Jasper County was one of the original twenty-three counties created when the Republic of Texas was established in 1836 following the Texas Revolution. ![]() Maybe when lockdown fever subsides things will 'Lighten Up'.
